S01E06 – My pussy belongs to Daddy

Image

“My pussy belongs to Daddy” is a compilation released in 1957 which contains 10 beautifully arranged tracks. The point was that to let people be aware of this album the producers decided to have a censored cover and a controversial title.

Without this packaging probably the album would have been ignored, scorned, ashamed, vituperated and eventually forgotten. This lurid product fought pretty hard to appear on the shelves of disco shops. Those conservative times were not too keen on having this infamous record at the sight of elderly people and children.

“My pussy belongs to Daddy” resisted through the years by standing hidden between stacks of records that no one would ever look at or buried in lost and forgotten basements of record companies. It took more than 50 years before this measly work could be embraced and enjoyed again. Today you can find it in its own splendour in online shops as a digital copy. The original vinyl would not be printed no more, times have changed and no one would be interested in this vintage jejuness.

But as a matter of fact, you cannot deny how good this album is, listen to the title track sung by Faye Richmonde (who sings most of the tracks) and the hot trumpet score in it, this is far from bad, it is actually something you should properly consider before laughing and farting out loud.

And by the way, the cat in the cover fools no one, we all know what the title means.

So long,

William C. Freshwater
