Formula One Legends: World Championship 1979

1979, means the 30th season of FIA Formula One motor racing.

Fifteen round series which commenced on January 21, 1979, and ended on October 7.

Ligier with Laffite, Scheckter and Villenueve on Ferrari, Alan Jones and Regazzoni at Williams.

Those 5 drivers will have during the whole season the lights on them.

Ligier seemed the car to beat after the first few race, but the rivalry Williams Ferrari had to explode exactly that year.

Williams not only reliable but fast and perfect handling for his talented and experienced drivers. New young drivers in the meantime were getting close to the top, and one of them impressed several times: René Arnoux. And the young Nelson Piquet.

This was the year of Ferrari. Jody Scheckter became World Champion. 2nd became his team mate and one of the favourite ever drivers in Formula 1, Gilles Villeneuve.
